Yesterday, We had our very last sewing bee for the TOTS Blanket Challenge 2026!
What a wonderful turnout! With over 40 volunteers making an appearance, this is one of our biggest sewing bees since the Challenge was formed!
I could not be more proud of each and every volunteer that has made this challenge so wonderful and successful!
With our volunteers, a face we had never seen before walked through the door with the lovey Linda Glase, it was Sonik!
Sonik, being a part of the challenge for many years, has never quite been able to attend any of our events. Living in Macquarie Park, it is rather difficult to get all the way out to Penrith without a car.
HOWEVER! Linda was kind enough to pick Sonik up in the morning before the sewing bee, and surprise us with Sonik’s presence!
The screeches that came out of barb!
Barb tells me that she has spent many years only hearing Soniks voice on the phone, but when she does call, barb never wants to hang up.
“Sonik got in touch with us because we were offering free postage for a time. Sonik would always send us squares, and to keep an eye out! Over the years, we got to know each other over the course of 3 or so years, and I would always know it was her calling. She is a really sweet and heartfelt woman who would always create beautiful squares, and it was our pleasure to cover her shipping.”
We are so grateful to have Sonik, and so many wonderful volunteers like her involved in the TOTS Blanket challenge!
