This blanket was lovingly handcrafted by our wonderful charity president, Debbie O’Connor.

This wonderful blanket will keep you warm and look great as a display piece on your lounge!

The maker’s Story

Deb only learnt how to crochet a few years ago!

“Ive been making lots of granny squares, but wanted to challenge myself. This is the second completed blanket and I am damn proud of it!”

Why did you choose these colours for your blanket?

‘I chose these colours with my son in mind while I was crocheting this blanket. He has left home and is travelling the world on a giant adventure. Even though he wasn’t home, every night I would pull out the blanket to work on, I would think of him, hoping he was safe and warm”

What got you into Crocheting? 

‘I took up crocheting because I discovered during my recovery from clinical burnout, that using my hands and creating something was very therapeutic. I knew how to knit and sew, but after a friend taught me how to crochet, I was hooked! (Excuse the pun)
Crocheting is now my daily therapy. It helps me unwind and calm my nerves. I especially love that what I create will help someone in need.
